Ways to Keep Your Car Insurance Rates Low

We all know we need car insurance, but are there any tricks to keeping your car insurance rates low without sacrificing coverage? You bet.

The first thing you can check is for a homeowner’s discount. If you already own your own home, check and see if your home owner’s insurance company offers a discount if you insure your vehicle with them as well. Or, be willing to move your homeowner’s policy to another insurer if you can get a better rate.

Another thing to check out is any good driver discount programs. If you have a clean driving record, often you will get a discount for being a safe driver. It makes sense too – if you have a good driving record, you will probably cost the insurance company less than someone who has had many accidents and tickets in their recent past. (more…)

There are three main types of car insurance you should educate yourself about – liability, collision and comprehensive. So what is the difference between them?
